The Mankulam police stated that investigations are underway regarding a private bus driver who ran over a police officer on duty.
The incident occurred last night (04) in the A-9 road, close to the Murunkan Kovil. The officer who was run over was a 28 year old police constable. The officer was on traffic duty with few others. The bus, had left the scene.
The Mankulam police are conducting further investigations on the matter.
