Prime Minister D M Jayaratne and Colombo district MP R Duminda Silva were granted three months’ leave by Parliament yesterday.

Parliament approved a motion submitted by Leader of the House and Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva seeking leave of absence for the two members from December 22.

MP Silva injured in a shooting incident in Mulleriyawa on October 8 last year, is receiving treatment in Singapore while Prime Minister Jayaratne returned to the country following medical treatment abroad.
