Gange Devalaya or Sellakataragama “Lord Ganesh Temple” went under water due to the opening of spill gates of Veheragala reservoir on Tuesday (27).The water level of Menik Ganga has risen due to the opening of spill gates.

Lands on either side of Menik Ganga in Sellakataragama and Kataragama went under water. But neither lives were taken nor houses were damaged. Devotees could not pay homage to this Devalaya until the water receded.
